This study aims to consider basic theoretical approaches to justifying and determining the need for restructuring of construction enterprises in general and the investment and construction sector in particular, taking into account the current conditions of increasing requirements for digitalization. Taking into account the factors influencing the activities of investment and construction enterprises, a search is being made for optimal methods and technologies for restructuring enterprises. In the process of the analysis, it was determined that the restructuring of investment and construction enterprises in the form of digital transformation determines a number of conditions that should be further studied and taken into account when developing a restructuring procedure. First of all, it is necessary to take into account that restructuring aimed at the digital transformation of the enterprise; as one of the forms of implementing organizational changes, restructuring as a process is complex, covering all management subsystems.
It is also worth noting that it is necessary to consider enterprises as an open system, the restructuring processes of which are reflected both in its internal structure and the connections between its elements, and in the connections with the environment, in the process of restructuring there is often resistance to change, which can slow down the processes of restructuring transformations and significantly reduce their effectiveness.
The features of the restructuring object (enterprise) determine the differences in approaches, methods and tools for implementing restructuring transformations. Such features should include, first of all, the type of activity of the enterprise, its size and the existing management situation, which in the case of preparation for restructuring of enterprises of the investment and construction sector in the process of digital transformation of their activities characterize their readiness for transformations.
